I didn't build TradesBrain because I wanted to make another AI app. I built it because I've spent years working with my hands, tearing things apart, fixing things, and figuring out why something isn't working when nobody else could tell me what was wrong.
In the trades, experience matters. But even the best technician doesn't know everything.
You can spend years learning your craft and still run into a machine, system, fault code, or problem you've never seen before. Sometimes the answer is buried in a 300-page service manual. Sometimes it's hidden in something another technician figured out ten years ago. And sometimes you're just standing there thinking, “What the hell am I missing?”
That's where TradesBrain comes in.
The goal isn't to replace skilled tradespeople. It's to make skilled people better equipped to solve problems.
TradesBrain is being built to help technicians diagnose problems logically, work through symptoms and measurements, find relevant technical information, and learn from the collective knowledge of the trades. Because knowing how to troubleshoot is just as important as knowing the answer.
I also believe customers deserve better. They deserve a technician who diagnoses the problem instead of guessing. They deserve to understand what failed and why. And they shouldn't have to wonder whether they're being charged for work that actually needed to be done.

I'm building this from the perspective of someone who has been on the other side of the problem — trying to figure it out with limited resources and knowing there has to be a better way. TradesBrain is that better way.
